My story

I was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa at age 15. This news came as a shock to me — at the time, a perfectionistic gymnast and straight-A student. My long journey to recovery was initially filled with so much guilt, shame and secrecy. It wasn’t until my early 20s (following a major relapse in university) that I felt comfortable opening up about my eating disorder recovery experience.

After many years suffering in silence, writing became an outlet where I could voice my struggles and feel part of the greater mental health community. The only problem was that I was still clinging on to parts of my eating disorder. In 2020, the pandemic made it clear that my eating disorder was alive and well.

With help from a new therapist, I dedicated myself to full recovery and started this eating disorder recovery blog to keep myself accountable. It’s since grown to become something even more impactful and important, touching the lives of strangers and friends alike. My goal is to educate and create space for other eating disorder survivors.
